Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Songur Yoran. Arsenal FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Daniel Zorita's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Songur Yoran on his right side and into the goal. 43 minutes into the game it was 0-4. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damaso Orlin made a kick off. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias Löfgren in the 54th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Orlin in the 59th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Damaso Orlin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arsenal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damaso Orlin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Orlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Songur Yoran made a huge save. Pål Brun hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Songur Yoran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arsenal FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Songur Yoran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 90th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Damaso Orlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Orlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
