In the 12th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Ekrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdi Revis in the 17th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Mutumba got free with Rolando Noboa in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Tage Glanselius made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. In the 30th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Mutumba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Mutumba came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Marcus Ekrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Ekrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 36th minute of play. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcus Ekrot in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 40th minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Abdi Revis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Mutumba in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 55th minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Vykans Vikingar defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus Ekrot. The Vykans Vikingar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus Ekrot should have stopped the shot. Vykans Vikingar made a substitution. Eric Van Lint replaced Hugo Eden. Marcus Ekrot came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdi Revis in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Mutumba in the 71st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Peru's Milagros Fraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Ekrot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 75th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Martin Mutumba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Mutumba in the 79th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Vykans Vikingar's Leonardo Trancoso was substituted for Martin Mutumba. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. In the 85th match minute, Vykans Vikingar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Van Lint to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Hílton Souza hit a great ball. The long shot by Eliseo Mina in the 94th minute really tested Marcus Ekrot's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
