The supporters of Voyager Soccer Team booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Casaus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Voyager Soccer Team's goalie and right to Pedro Indiano. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Voyager Soccer Team's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 26th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piotr Rybak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alun Harmon got free with Thiago Pliego in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 47th minute of play forced Voyager Soccer Team's goalkeeper Waldemar Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bai Kun Yang to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Voyager Soccer Team's goalkeeper Waldemar Quintal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. Waldemar Quintal was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Mariano Lacasa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mariano Lacasa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piotr Rybak in the 60th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bai Kun Yang in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Voyager Soccer Team's goalkeeper Waldemar Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Voyager Soccer Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. After 85 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldemar Quintal. Waldemar Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Waldemar Quintal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Piotr Rybak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Piotr Rybak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chile walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
