The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Rafael Domeka took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 20 minutes into the game, SOUTH AFRICA's Rafael Domeka nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Mel in the 25th minute of the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Rafael Domeka tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match, Elvio Ted tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rafael Domeka was slow to take the kick. During this time SOUTH AFRICA's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on SOUTH AFRICA's corner Rafael Domeka fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Elvio Ted dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 4-0. In the 40th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Dominic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeo Mel in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. 5-0 became the score in the 46th minute when Romeo Mel elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Domeka to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Mel in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeo Dominic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolf Roppel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Domeka's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolf Roppel, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rafael Domeka took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. SOUTH AFRICA made a substitution. 张洲荣 replaced Romeo Mel. SOUTH AFRICA's Arsenio Oinatz was substituted for Chen Jing Li. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 82 minutes, Rafael Domeka made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Romeo Dominic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute. Romeo Dominic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 张洲荣 in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Rafael Domeka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Dominic having to interfere. There was no doubt that SOUTH AFRICA were the better team. SOUTH AFRICA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
