But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Torres came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Umberto Torres. Umberto Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Torres came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Antonio Arias scored 0-6 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Umberto Torres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Umberto Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júnior Soeiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Umberto Torres in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play.
