Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) USA's Cassius Byrne started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cornelio Cordearo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 2nd minute of play. After having played for 5 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Pirro in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 15th minute of play. Cassius Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Cornelio Cordearo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monty Rogers scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cornelio Cordearo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club's zone, Monty Rogers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Cordearo came out of the goal and Monty Rogers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacob May hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Cassius Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Pirro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Monty Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of USA booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Lano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Luciano Pirro made the kick off in the second half. If Luciano Pirro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monty Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Cordearo having to interfere. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassius Byrne couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. In the 71st minute of the match Racing Club got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Nevada ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Racing Club's corner Samuel Nevada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marco Day quite easily take care of the ball. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. In the 77th minute of the match Racing Club got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Nevada ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Samuel Nevada got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Homer Field in the 79th minute of play. Marco Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Cornelio Cordearo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cornelio Cordearo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jenson Smith, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Jacob May hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 94 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Jacob May. In the 95th minute Ramiro Lano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Khalid Parry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Cordearo having to interfere. USA were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Racing Club to leave the ground with a draw.
