Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benni Skovhus having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Arthur Kiel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 22nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Stevnstrup's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Benni Skovhus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 25th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benni Skovhus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per Højrup during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arthur Kiel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 43 minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Kiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arthur Kiel to make the kick off.
