Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Abalos in the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of play forced Huracan FC's goalkeeper Arne Pettersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Huracan FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Armando Tofani hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Huracan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Arne Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Huracan FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Luis Andino fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. When Huracan FC's Herminio Abalos in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Abalos in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 13 minutes into the match, Huracan FC's Herminio Abalos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Herminio Abalos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arne Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Abalos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, Iwan Assendelft was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huracan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Huracan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iwan Assendelft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Huracan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Arne Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute of the match, Herminio Abalos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Herminio Abalos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Arne Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After 48 minutes Huracan FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Huracan FC's Arne Pettersson managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herminio Abalos to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Iwan Assendelft hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Huracan FC made a substitution. Conrado George replaced Zhuang Xi Qiang. Huracan FC's Gustaf Bogren was substituted for Herminio Abalos. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Huracan FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Pettersson came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alvaro Roderigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
