Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torino SSA. A hard shot by Víktor Guerra from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Julio Vera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Torino SSA's Chicão de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Noureddine Seret tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sílvio Luiz da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. After 74 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Torino SSA booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho da Fonseca during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
