Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Justo Ruy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabio Sadurni in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Justo Ruy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by NUMBA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Daniel Aztore managed to get in a good position for a shot. NUMBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Aztore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justo Ruy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Justo Ruy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to NUMBA getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jarne Decaluwe hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmund Wierzcholek in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Justo Ruy made a huge save. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Justo Ruy made a huge save. Justo Ruy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Palban in the 56th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Ruy having to interfere. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by NUMBA's Fabio Sadurni. But to his dismay, Fabio Sadurni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 71 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Justo Ruy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 75 minutes into the match, NUMBA's goalkeeper Justo Ruy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After 76 minutes NUMBA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Justo Ruy quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Ruy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Palban in the 83rd minute of play. Justo Ruy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Justo Ruy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Roberto Eusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Justo Ruy came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play.
