Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Julian Murillo kicked off to start the match. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Marcus Edström sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute Club Deportes Santa Cruz were awarded a corner. Hugo Holflod went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Hugo Holflod got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Club Deportes Santa Cruz defense, Luz Tejedor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilkka Markkula. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilkka Markkula should have stopped the shot. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Eduardo Elia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ilkka Markkula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ilkka Markkula didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. After 38 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilkka Markkula was left in no man's land by his defense there! The throw-in from Eduardo Elia in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. After 43 minutes, Shi Yuan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportes Santa Cruz and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shi Yuan hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the game, Peru's Eliseo Mina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilkka Markkula made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Yan Zhi Chuan was substituted for Podador Raheiro. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Trayko Gradinarski was substituted for Zhou Yao Si.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yan Zhi Chuan to make the kick off. Ilkka Markkula stood somewhat misplaced when Julian Murillo came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 62 minute. After 65 minutes, Antonio Gorri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportes Santa Cruz and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Antonio Gorri got a free kick in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ilkka Markkula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Ilkka Markkula made a huge save. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Zhi Chuan in the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Murillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yan Zhi Chuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Ilkka Markkula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Ilkka Markkula in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the game, Rafael Gallo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ilkka Markkula. Rafael Gallo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
