Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marquinhos Teixeira started the match with the kick off. A collision led to FÊNIX F.C. getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Pedro Luís Pereira hit a great ball. Damian Fetor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. FÊNIX F.C.'s Damian Fetor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After 15 played minutes FÊNIX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jailson Favoretto. The supporters of FÊNIX F.C. booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the FÊNIX F.C. defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Fetor. The FÊNIX F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Fetor should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bengt Bouchard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marquinhos Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marquinhos Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Gabriel Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Fetor having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FÊNIX F.C.'s Damian Fetor got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Damian Fetor to make any attempt to save it. Damian Fetor made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Damian Fetor in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Damian Fetor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Damian Fetor. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. FÊNIX F.C.'s Marcinho Arce was substituted for Oswaldo Vaz. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Damian Fetor came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 76th minute. FÊNIX F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Damian Fetor, making the score, 0-6. Damian Fetor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 83rd minute. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Bengt Bouchard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Kauã Moreno took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
