In the 20th match minute, Monitor Huáscar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Galván to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Claudio Quiroga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudio Quiroga to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monitor Huáscar's Nazario Arechavala was substituted for Johnny Nyström. Monitor Huáscar's Apostol Sokolov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 64th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Apostol Sokolov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Monitor Huáscar defense, Luz Tejedor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apostol Sokolov. The Monitor Huáscar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apostol Sokolov should have stopped the shot. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. After 85 minutes Monitor Huáscar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eliseo Mina who took care of the corner kick. Rafael Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apostol Sokolov having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes.
