The supporters of OLYMPIACOS FC booed when VERΛ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Txomin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernabe Normando charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernabe Normando the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernabe Normando hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After 15 minutes, Cirilo Chayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OLYMPIACOS FC and the VERΛ players grew even worse after the yellow card. 22 minutes into the match, VERΛ's Ignacio Macias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidio Oto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute, VERΛ's Ignacio Macias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ovidio Oto. Ovidio Oto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Ricardo Honrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santos Lazcano in the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to VERΛ getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Danilo Garikoitz hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelino Francesco to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernabe Normando got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Santos Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ricardo Honrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, VERΛ's Ricardo Honrio got control of the ball when Eusebio Cayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Honrio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebio Cayo in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Elpidio Brais managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelino Francesco in the 82nd minute of play forced OLYMPIACOS FC's goalkeeper Ovidio Oto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ricardo Honrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the OLYMPIACOS FC defense, Marcelino Francesco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidio Oto. The OLYMPIACOS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidio Oto should have stopped the shot. Santos Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Honrio having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VERΛ fans cheered their team off the field, for while OLYMPIACOS FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
