Atlético Mineiro's Fynn John proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Mineiro from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raul Jaunti got free with Fynn John in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Quintun in the 12th minute of play forced Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Fynn John to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Atlético Mineiro's Fynn John got control of the ball when Salvador Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute André Luís Best shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute Raul Jaunti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fynn John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Mineiro's Fynn John tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 88 minutes into the game, Walmyr Guimarães recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edvin van der Sar. Walmyr Guimarães showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. In the 91st minute, İskender Yörük made a precise shot to the right of Fynn John. Atlético Mineiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Municipales FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
