With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 32nd minute of the match. After 39 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niva Bruna who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Niva Bruna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares did a great save. In the 44th minute Velasco Rollan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. 50 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gianluigi Buffon. Axel Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Velasco Rollan in the 56th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Velasco Rollan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santino Seco in the 63rd minute. In the 70th minute, Axel Montenegro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gianluigi Buffon. The goal made the score 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
