The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Pombal got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 34th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. 35 in the game Catugi FC's Benjamim Alvarenga showed how dangerous he can be in front of the goal when he by his own managed to get a clear opportunity for a shot. The following shot went just left of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Mina during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benjamim Alvarenga shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 43 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Walmir Pombal fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 52nd minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Catugi FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Catugi FC fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Catugi FC's Carlos Alberto Soares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Benjamim Alvarenga got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 69th minute, Benjamim Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 71 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Reko Nybacka managed to make a qualified save. Catugi FC's players were relieved. Salvador Gisbert hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Carlos Alberto Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 84 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. The audience held their breath when Benjamim Alvarenga in the 85th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Jonathan Ferrant's left hand side. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jaime França hit a great ball. Benjamim Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Soares came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute Carlos Alberto Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Catugi FC were the better team. Catugi FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
