Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Estudiantes de Merida FC's Emiliano Lesardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Claudinei Canido tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Emiliano Lesardo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 13th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Bambang Sagala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. When Estudiantes de Merida FC's Claudinei Canido in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Garci Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes de Merida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Garci Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emiliano Lesardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 39thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bambang Sagala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Bambang Sagala made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 53rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bambang Sagala narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Estudiantes de Merida FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Canido in the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Bambang Sagala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 77 played minutes Estudiantes de Merida FC got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Lesardo. In the 81st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Marcelino Quinten was substituted for Emiliano Lesardo. The supporters of Estudiantes de Merida FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bambang Sagala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bambang Sagala. The goal made the score 2-2. In the 93rdth minute of the game Marcelino Quinten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelino Quinten in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
