Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The crowd rose to their feet as Abiogenesis's Leonides Austin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Abiogenesis were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Delmar Libertad took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Delmar Libertad got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 20th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernan Orlondon kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Leonides Austin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Leonides Austin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jacobo Aritza came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Abiogenesis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacobo Aritza couldn't finish the play. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Abiogenesis's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Eladio came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacobo Aritza in the 56th minute of play. If Fernan Orlondon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abiogenesis made a substitution. Cristo Maju replaced Jacobo Aritza. Abiogenesis made a substitution. Joel Caetano replaced Eleuterio Iraido. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aquiles Kimetz, made in the 69th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Libertad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Austin came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Austin in the 89th minute of play. Fernan Orlondon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Abiogenesis's Cristo Maju in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Abiogenesis fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
