In the 10th minute Colombo A.C. were awarded a corner. Julian Tomporowski went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Colombo A.C.'s Julian Tomporowski to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Michal Burufski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Michal Burufski scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Michal Burufski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa, 2-0. Colombo A.C.'s Ali Nejat Özertem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 25th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aitor Cintron, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Colombo A.C.'s Aitor Cintron in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal. Ali Nejat Özertem came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Michal Burufski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Aitor Cintron lined in a short shot 3-1 behind a frustrated Dante Lacasa. In the 44th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Nejat Özertem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aitor Cintron got free with Dante Lacasa in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aitor Cintron was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Ali Nejat Özertem in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute of the match Julian Tomporowski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ali Nejat Özertem made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. In the 59th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Nejat Özertem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Michal Burufski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Colombo A.C. made a substitution. Ricardinho Dantas replaced Aitor Cintron. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla had several of the Colombo A.C.'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-2 score and a disappointed Ali Nejat Özertem as he didn't even see the shot coming. 80 minutes into the match, Colombo A.C.'s goalkeeper Ali Nejat Özertem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. The supporters of Mexico booed when Colombo A.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Tomporowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombo A.C.'s Ali Nejat Özertem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Colombo A.C. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 86th minute of play forced Colombo A.C.'s goalkeeper Ali Nejat Özertem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Nejat Özertem made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Joel Gaona kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Dantas in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Colombo A.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ali Nejat Özertem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
