Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jozef Wandzik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Ubelteso in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandinho Rodrigues came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiburcio Ubelteso, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Nestor Tadzio hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jozef Wandzik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute of the game 洪国傲 made a throw-in which Aaron Millano played forward. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Secada. Tiburcio Ubelteso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute of the match Fernandinho Rodrigues sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Zurdo FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
