Cristo Cordara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Cordara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Royal Knights FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cristo Cordara in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 42nd minute, Marcel Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristo Cordara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Royal Knights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manu Smets didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Knights FC's goalkeeper Cristo Cordara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montes got away a dangerous shot. Cristian Sancho scored 0-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristo Cordara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristo Cordara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristo Cordara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristo Cordara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manu Smets in the 73rd minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hudson Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Cristo Cordara made a huge save. A collision led to Royal Knights FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Kane Richard hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Royal Knights FC's Manu Smets got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
