In the 27th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Siekierski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when GeRaÇãO-83 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jiang Xiang Sheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Edin Džeko came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Grzegorz Siekierski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Billy Backman managed to get in a good position for a shot. GeRaÇãO-83's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Backman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
