In the 29thth minute of the game Arnaldo Herensuge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Herensuge. Arnaldo Herensuge struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brújula FC. Arnaldo Herensuges short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 44th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Telmo during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Donato Telmo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Brújula FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Frederico didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brújula FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Eliseo Noboa scored to the left of an out of position Arnaldo Cilio, making the score, 1-1. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Arnaldo Cilio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Costa Rica players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Brújula FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
