But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Zonta couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wellington Gerber's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. João Carlos Oliveira didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Aílton Neiva hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Gerber in the 83rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aílton Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costa Rica were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over ROSÁRIO SPORT's much stronger midfield.
