Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Hugo Noremberg scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 2-0. Hugo Noremberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russ Barton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Picapiedras FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugo Noremberg in the 16th minute. In the 23rdth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Picapiedras FC's Juan Ibañez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Picapiedras FC's Hugo Noremberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Hugo Noremberg sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Francisco Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Francisco Seco hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Ivan Hopgood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Ibañez. Picapiedras FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Francisco Seco might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Ibañez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Seco ran back to his position shaking his head.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Hugo Noremberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russ Barton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Ibañez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 60th minute. Francisco Seco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The supporters of Picapiedras FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Picapiedras FC's Hugo Noremberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 72 minutes into the match, Picapiedras FC's goalkeeper Juan Ibañez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Picapiedras FC's Juan Ibañez got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Ibañez. Juan Ibañez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Inocencio Iago in the 81 minute of the game. In the 82nd minute, Basilio Eliazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matias Berto's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matias Berto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Picapiedras FC's Matias Berto got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Picapiedras FC defense, Alberto Gisbert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Ibañez. The Picapiedras FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Ibañez should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the match, Picapiedras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Juan Ibañez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Ibañez made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Uruguay players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
