Demonde Jacobson made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Iuri de Andrade sent off a good shot on target. Javan Develder kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Iuri de Andrade took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Demonde Jacobson to make any attempt to save it. Karlus Waugh charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karlus Waugh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, Iuri de Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebeto Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Iuri de Andrade kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Demonde Jacobson. That made the score 3-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Jamaica's Jamaall Padmore seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jamaall Padmore the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jamaica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jamaall Padmore had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jamaica! When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, Goiás Esporte Clube's Basílio Perez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Demonde Jacobson. If Clóvis Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Iuri de Andrade came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karlus Waugh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Rosado having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Goiás Esporte Clube's Demonde Jacobson threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Iuri de Andrade, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iuri de Andrade in the 42nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Goiás Esporte Clube's Demonde Jacobson threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Iuri de Andrade, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Jamaica's Romon Oliver got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iuri de Andrade to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Kiko Rosado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarell Hill. After a rather tough play, Jamaica's Karlus Waugh got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 84 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Jarell Hill. 86 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Iuri de Andrade came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Jamaica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geroy Ascue to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Jamaica booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juarês Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball.
