Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Markus Pflüger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Markus Pflüger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Markus Pflüger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Du Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Du Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Markus Pflüger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 minutes, Kauã Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Du Esporte Clube and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Kauã Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Pflüger having to interfere. Du Esporte Clube's Arnaldo Lizer got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Du Esporte Clube defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Markus Pflüger. The Du Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Markus Pflüger should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Markus Pflüger made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Markus Pflüger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes Du Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Markus Pflüger quite easily take care of the ball. After 55 played minutes Du Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Clementi. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento in the 57th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Markus Pflüger made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Felix Montes lost his temper 62 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping Sílvio Costa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Markus Pflüger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Markus Pflüger made a huge save. In the 70th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento in the 72nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Du Esporte Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Markus Pflüger, making the score, 2-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Du Esporte Clube's Markus Pflüger got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento in the 98th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
