After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! The goalkeeper, Benito Sanz, was totally fooled by Vicit FC's Kaká Campidelis, who 5 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Vicit FC's Guto do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Vicit FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Wiliam Vale hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Eliseo Noboa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guto do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 18th minute. Guto do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wiliam Vale during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wiliam Vale hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Campidelis in the 36th minute of the match. Guto do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseo Noboa's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kaká Campidelis 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51stth minute of the game Kaká Campidelis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
