Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Martín Ulloa made the kick off which started today's match. 5 minutes into the game, Humberto Escobar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Humberto Escobar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Benavides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Escobar in the 12th minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Juan Benavides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Humberto Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Nóbrega in the 18th minute of play. Juan Benavides came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute, Humberto Escobar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Humberto Escobar sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zheko Kraychev during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zheko Kraychev to maneuver through the defense. When Zheko Kraychev was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. Zheko Kraychev hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Martín Ulloa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Escobar during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Humberto Escobar kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martín Ulloa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. After 47 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa.
In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Juan Benavides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute of the match Giancarlo Mora shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Martín Ulloa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Ulloa in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giancarlo Mora in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. 70 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juan Benavides. Juan Benavides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Benavides came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ►Las Mercedes F.C◄.
