Jonathan Ferrant stood somewhat misplaced when Cai Inestrosa came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 43 minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Jackson Millgate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Eliot Pfingst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th match minute, Southern Thrashers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cai Inestrosa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cai Inestrosa went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nurkan Salah in the 64th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pascal Peters kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Cai Inestrosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cai Inestrosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Southern Thrashers booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cai Inestrosa in the 87th minute of play. If Cai Inestrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Southern Thrashers's Nurkan Salah in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. 94 minutes into the match, Southern Thrashers's goalkeeper Eliot Pfingst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Southern Thrashers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
