After a defensive mix-up in Muñeco FC's zone, Guillermo Mariano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emiliano Orixe came out of the goal and Guillermo Mariano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Emiliano Orixe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. The Muñeco FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Muñeco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Muñeco FC's Emiliano Orixe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Muñeco FC from getting a goal against them.
