The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huang Rong couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Huang Rong came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Huang Rong came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Golden Generation fans jumped to their feet. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Enoaia got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Golden Generation's Turgay Şeren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Mastache in the 20th minute of play. Kevin Mastache struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Turgay Şeren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Huang Rong in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. Pedro Manzanares was a little too slow when Huang Rong got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. Alex Enoaia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huang Rong, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huang Rong in the 32nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Golden Generation's Turgay Şeren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgay Şeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elivélton Cunha was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Abram Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Turgay Şeren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Turgay Şeren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 55th minute of the match. Maximino Malvin got a throw-in 57 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Elpidio Intxixu. After having played for 58 minutes, Kevin Mastache managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Mastache was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kevin Mastache kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yorrick Hekman, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Yorrick Hekman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Turgay Şeren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 69th minute of the match. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elivélton Cunha in the 72nd minute of play. Yorrick Hekman took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Colombia made a substitution. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Turgay Şeren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 93rdth minute of the game Ignacio Mastache who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Generation's Turgay Şeren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Turgay Şeren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Secada in the 94th minute. Maximino Malvin hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
