After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Igor Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Igor Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Márcio de Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Guaberto Gamus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 57th minute of the match. When Igor Mota came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Bandeca FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Mota couldn't finish the play. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Guaberto Gamus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Luiz Fabiano Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guaberto Gamus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 75 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Guaberto Gamus managed to make a qualified save. Bandeca FC's players were relieved. Luiz Fabiano Cearense hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guaberto Gamus saved Bandeca FC from getting behind. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a Bandeca FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Igor Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bandeca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Banders in the 89th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bandeca FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Igor Mota in the 90th minute. A nice corner shot did that Igor Mota got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bandeca FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
