Lautaro Mancebo scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Safet Hands, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Safet Hands narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Leoz to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Måns Sandberg got free with Dante Lacasa in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norrlands Athen's Juan Lebron managed to work through Mexico's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Juan Lebron dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 59th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Filcho Slivkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson was substituted for Måns Sandberg. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 76th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Stig-Arne Deckberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute, Jacinto da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the game, Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. After 94 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 4-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Safet Hands was left in no man's land by his defense there! Norrlands Athen succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mexico had controlled the match.
