In the 33rd minute, Severiano Enekoitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernesto Merexildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Patricio Costa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Guido Bartolome cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lα Sυв 21's Ernesto Merexildo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Lα Sυв 21 from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ernesto Merexildo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Pablo Vegetti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute, Pablo Vegetti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Pablo Vegetti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
