Erik Thorstvedt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 57th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Thorstvedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 60th minute. Etxahun Olmos's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Etxahun Olmos helped the player get up and apologised. Etxahun Olmos kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Erik Thorstvedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Arturo Carvallo hit a great ball. In the 70thth minute of the game Michel Hervé who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Thorstvedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michel Hervé's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vitor Cambero kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Barrikako Herensugeak F.C got a freekick which was hit by Brent Weeks. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Erik Thorstvedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Maximiliano Escribano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Despite being the better team, Uruguay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
