Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mümtaz İlyas got free with Julio Vera in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cléberson Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cléberson Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Mümtaz İlyas sent off a good shot on target. Cléberson Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of the match. Cléberson Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67st Xerebos Familya F.C.'s Mümtaz İlyas was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 42nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 47 minutes, Agustín Saelices mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the 67st Xerebos Familya F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Cléberson Andrade made a huge save. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cléberson Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mümtaz İlyas took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 84th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cavit Coşkuner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kayhan Sazak in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The 67st Xerebos Familya F.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
