Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Porto Sul Football defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francesco Toldo. The Porto Sul Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francesco Toldo should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Porto Sul Football's Alexander Mejía seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alexander Mejía the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Porto Sul Football protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexander Mejía had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Porto Sul Football! Joel Gaona walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Francesco Toldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 61st minute. In the 68th minute, César de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Porto Sul Football's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Porto Sul Football's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Facundo Cadaval. Facundo Cadaval's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Francesco Toldo firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 77 played minutes Porto Sul Football got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Netto. 82 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Porto Sul Football's Francesco Toldo. Francesco Toldo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Francesco Toldo. Francesco Toldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Netto in the 93rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francesco Toldo made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Porto Sul Football fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
