Baltazar Clavijo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Fernando Grover took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Levander in the 22nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Clavijo in the 26th minute of play. Borussia Dortmund's Yao Zhan Sang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Grover in the 28th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute Fernando Grover shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Fernando Grover sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute, Tomas Levander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Astor Odol hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Yao Zhan Sang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Tomas Levander fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Borussia Dortmund's Yakup Sargut got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baltazar Clavijo scored 4-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Clavijo in the 61st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Grover in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Fernando Grover. But to his dismay, Fernando Grover quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 71st minute, Baltazar Clavijo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. The audience was convinced that Fernando Grover's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borussia Dortmund's Fernandez Quintairos was substituted for Tomas Levander. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Grover in the 93rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Clavijo in the 95th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Astor Odol got a free kick in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Borussia Dortmund had won after a very even match.
