The supporters of Ilulea FC booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabby Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Golembiewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats. 12 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabby Arias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ilulea FC's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabby Arias came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the game, Eleuterio Mirande recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa. Eleuterio Mirande showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Moises Gayoso made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ilulea FC's Martin Gorbea. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Häger in the 27th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabby Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play. Gabby Arias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Gabby Arias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Gabby Arias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play forced Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Gabby Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Tejedor might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabby Arias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luz Tejedor ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabby Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 41st minute of play. The throw-in from Martin Gorbea in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Milagros Fraga. 45 minutes into the match, Ilulea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Gabby Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Gabby Arias was a little too slow when Julian Murillo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 1-1. Gabby Arias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Martin Gorbea made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 78 minutes in the game, Eliseo Mina fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gabby Arias having to interfere. Martin Gorbea hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Gabby Arias made a huge save. 87 minutes in the game, Eliseo Mina fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gabby Arias having to interfere. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso.
