When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Demario made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Demario in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Moises Demario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ezequiel Gagriel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Savier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
