The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carhue's Angel Xacintu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Isbășoiu in the 11th minute of play. After 12 minutes Carhue's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristi Maniu who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Cătălin Agulescu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Carhue getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Petre Zărnescu hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Brent-Jan Kindermans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carhue's supporters rose to their feet, but Brent-Jan Kindermans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Călin Prunaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Brent-Jan Kindermans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Călin Prunaru was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Angel Xacintu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Isbășoiu in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Pau Novo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Xacintu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Brent-Jan Kindermans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Călin Prunaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Carhue were awarded a corner. Petre Zărnescu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Carhue's Brent-Jan Kindermans getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Charles De Ketelaere recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charles De Ketelaere who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Călin Prunaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carhue were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after FC MCM's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Petre Zărnescu took the corner. Carhue's Petre Zărnescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Călin Prunaru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 46 minutes into the game, Charles De Ketelaere lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Călin Prunaru. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brent-Jan Kindermans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brent-Jan Kindermans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carhue's attentive Xu Wei managed to snatch the ball when Maxim Frumuzache made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. A well placed Adrian Isbășoiu short distance shot in the 57th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Justo Egoitz replaced Petre Zărnescu. In the 65th minute, Anibal Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brent-Jan Kindermans in the 67th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes FC MCM's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leon Kaxen who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Carhue's corner Leon Kaxen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Călin Prunaru quite easily take care of the ball. A nice corner shot did that Charles De Ketelaere got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Călin Prunaru quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A sloppy throw-in by Maxim Frumuzache in the 80th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Carhue's Tomas Ourente. Călin Prunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brent-Jan Kindermans in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Cristi Maniu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Brent-Jan Kindermans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC MCM's Călin Prunaru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brent-Jan Kindermans in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Călin Prunaru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute Brent-Jan Kindermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Călin Prunaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristi Maniu kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. A collision led to Carhue getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Leon Kaxen hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC MCM's Cristi Maniu tried to score from far away in the 96th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
