After having played for 25 minutes, Facundo Cadaval managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Facundo Cadaval was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruno Renan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 30th minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Renan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and José Paulo de Lara capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. José Paulo de Lara really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcinho Mineiro to make the kick off. Bruno Renan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Sherif Cannavaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florestal Futebol Clube made a substitution. Evaristo Eleazar replaced Thierry Henry. After a rather tough play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Sherif Cannavaro got a free kick in the 59th minute. The long shot by Joel Gaona in the 60th minute really tested Bruno Renan's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Bruno Renan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 68 minutes into the match, Florestal Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Bruno Renan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Florestal Futebol Clube's Marcinho Mineiro. But to his dismay, Marcinho Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo de Lara in the 75th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florestal Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sherif Cannavaro took the corner. Florestal Futebol Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sherif Cannavaro in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Zé Paulo de Toledo got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Florestal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Bruno Renan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Camargo in the 84th minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
