Romulo Gelacio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 4 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Gelacio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romulo Gelacio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Romulo Gelacio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romulo Gelacio. Romulo Gelacio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Petros Mousa succeeded in the game's 16th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Gelacio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 33rd minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Romulo Gelacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romulo Gelacio. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petros Mousa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Romulo Gelacio in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 51 minutes INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Romulo Gelacio made a huge save. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Petros Mousa got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 71st minute. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Romulo Gelacio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Romulo Gelacio. That made the score 2-4 in the 86 minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Romulo Gelacio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Norberto Fresco ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Norberto Fresco got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB.
