Uruguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Milito in the 8th minute. With 9 minutes on the clock, Florencio Oxarra commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Jaime Cazalla was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 12th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Isaac Dayam, made in the 14th minute of the game. Abel Neron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Balvanera's Marciano Koldobika got a free kick in the 17th minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marciano Koldobika was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Balvanera's players had a chance to rest. In the 24th minute, Diego Milito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute Francisco Seco suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Balvanera's Diego Milito got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 34th minute Fernando Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Abel Neron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Zorita in the 45th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Uruguay's Fernando Zorita in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Deportivo Balvanera getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Diego Milito hit a great ball. A hard shot 69 in the game by Fernando Zorita from a close distance when the talented Abel Neron managed to make a qualified save. Deportivo Balvanera's players were relieved. 70 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Abel Neron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Koldobika. Abel Neron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Pes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Jaime Cazalla sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron didn't even have to move. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Carballal in the 83rd minute of play. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Deportivo Balvanera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. In the 90th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Franco to maneuver through the defense. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Abel Neron as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the final whistle sounded Uruguay left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Deportivo Balvanera.
