AMERICAN BARÇA's Thiago Pliego threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bubu Denat, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alejandro Verdu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 6th minute of the match. Bubu Denat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alejandro Verdu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute of play. Alejandro Verdu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's David Ballester got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejandro Verdu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Verdu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd play minute Federico Zanetti came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Thiago Pliego. 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bubu Denat was the one to do the kick off. If Ludovít Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Alejandro Verdu in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marino Ramos in the 65th minute of play. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marino Ramos was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's zone, Orlando Casaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alejandro Verdu came out of the goal and Orlando Casaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the game, Bubu Denat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Bubu Denat came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Bubu Denat. But to his dismay, Bubu Denat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Villarroel in the 89th minute of the match. After 90 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gică Popescu who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's corner Gică Popescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoni Villarroel in the 92nd minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Villarroel in the 96th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Antoni Villarroel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA.
