Godofredo Abella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Godofredo Abella was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelino Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelino Hug. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Godofredo Abella didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. MAN FC's Godofredo Abella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. Godofredo Abella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after MAN FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustín Saelices in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godofredo Abella prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Cederik De Roost sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cederik De Roost in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cederik De Roost in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Godofredo Abella. A very good chance. MAN FC made a substitution. Rolando Gamus replaced Paulino Hotz. Li Wei Jun's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Li Wei Jun helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of MAN FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. The goalkeeper, Godofredo Abella, was totally fooled by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita, who 81 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 83rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Abella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, MAN FC's Sturle Bjerkan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sturle Bjerkan in the 92nd minute of the match. Sturle Bjerkan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, MAN FC could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
