Joaquin Gayoso was a little too slow when Stacey Banning got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Stacey Banning's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. River tu grato nombre were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stacey Banning took the corner. 42 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Stacey Banning came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Francesco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Eulalio Francesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 52nd minute of play. Maximiliano Escribano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Eulalio Francesco made a huge save. Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when River tu grato nombre's Stacey Banning shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Stacey Banning managed to get in a good position for a shot. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Stacey Banning kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marlin Dawson in the 93 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Eulalio Francesco in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. River tu grato nombre's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
