When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Joel Gaona put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Wachirapong Wattanachinda. Wachirapong Wattanachinda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 21st minute of play. The Clube do Remo MZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 1-2.
The wind increased when Baal Grunberg made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Tiaguinho Mandrak came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wachirapong Wattanachinda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Rouco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Baal Grunberg came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baal Grunberg in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiaguinho Mandrak in the 69th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Wachirapong Wattanachinda made a huge save. In the 78th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wachirapong Wattanachinda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wachirapong Wattanachinda came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Wachirapong Wattanachinda made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Fabricio Ritchie charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabricio Ritchie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Fabricio Ritchie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wachirapong Wattanachinda didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 86th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. The Clube do Remo MZ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mexico's performance. The match ended with a win for Mexico.
